A man robbed an area computer store and locked its employee in the bathroom before fleeing.

The perpetrator entered Omega Computers & Security LLC, 714 W. Porter St., at 5:12 p.m. Dec. 24, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. He cocked a silver gun at a 28-year-old male employee and demanded cash. The worker provided money from the top register and then the robber helped himself to more cash from the bottom register, totaling $2,289.

He then asked if there was a safe, Tolliver said. After the cashier said, “No,” the gunman locked him inside the bathroom, which is where he remained until police arrived.

The robber was described as black, in his late-teens to mid-20s, thin and wearing a gray jacket with a black hood over his head, jeans, black gloves and black mask cover the lower portion of his face.
