A teenager suffered two slashes from a box cutter in Grays Ferry Monday.
The boy had just concluded playing basketball at Donald J. Finnegan Playground, 1231 S. 30th St., when a group of unknown males approached him, with each wearing a black T-shirt over his face, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. One figure pushed him, pulled out a box cutter and twice slashed him on the back before walking away, with the victim last catching site of him heading eastbound on Wharton Street.
The youth, who received transport to CHOP, described the lead individual as black, 5-foot-8 and 17 years old; wearing black shorts and a black T-shirt over his face. Detailed descriptions of the five accomplices were not available as of press time.
