A man lost consciousness from a chokehold applied to him during a Grays Ferry robbery.
The complainant met with authorities at 12:45 a.m. June 13 on the 2800 block of Wharton Street and learned he had been entering a friend’s home when an unknown figure, of whom he could provide no details, came from behind and put him in a chokehold, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. When he regained consciousness after an undetermined amount of time, he found himself on the ground with blood coming from his head and the contents of his wallet scattered on the ground. A medic unit transported the individual, who reported $290 missing, to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center for the laceration.
