An ATM located outside of a Passyunk Square grocery store was pried open with an undetermined amount of cash stolen.

The store manager discovered the machine, which is stationed inside Save-A-Lot, 1300 Washington Ave., damaged upon her arrival at 6 a.m. Saturday.

According to video surveillance, the offender entered the building through the room, crawled from the back room to the front of the store and sat in front of the machine between 3:33 and 4:45 that morning with an unknown tool trying to break the machine, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Upon gaining access and taking some money, the perpetrator, crawled back to the back room and escaped.
