Video surveillance helped police to nab the man who robbed a woman walking from a West Passyunk convenience store two weeks ago.

Police recovered the footage July 8, four days after the 20-year-old was mugged as she ventured from 7-Eleven, 2301 W. Passyunk Ave., Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Investigators recognized the alleged perpetrator — Andre Cunningham, 21, of the 2300 block of Bambrey Terrace — and the victim identified him from a photo array. Police arrested Cunningham at the rear of his home July 10.

Cunningham allegedly borrowed and returned a lighter from the woman inside the store, Tolliver said. As she was walking on the 2300 block of South Bonsall Street, he is believed to have pulled $47 from her bra, pushed her down and fled.

Cunningham was charged with robbery, theft, terroristic threats, indecent assault, simple assault and related offenses, according to court records. His bail, set at $50,000, was not posted by press time.
