As authorities continue to work to identify a homicide suspect, the victim’s family has added a $5,000 reward to the City’s $20,000 posting.

The Citizens Crime Commission is administering the smaller sum that contributes to the $25,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual responsible for Don Ly’s April death in Whitman.

Police responded to the 400 block of Vollmer Street at 5:09 a.m. April 18 when they discovered Ly on the sidewalk in front of his home with multiple stab wounds to his neck, torso and right arm, police said.

The wanted suspect is described as black with a light complexion or Latino, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10, thin; having a beard and wearing dark-colored pants, a dark-colored jacket, a black knit hat and black Converse sneakers.
