A man failed at breaking into a Pennsport eatery’s ATM early on Memorial Day, so instead pulled cash from its register.
The unknown man entered China House No. 3, 49 Snyder Ave., through the rear door, which was forced open and had a hole cut in it, for about an hour, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. He attempted to break into the store’s ATM, but then diverted to the till from which he stole $680. As he exited the store, he entered a minivan on the 2000 block of Water Street that was operated by an unknown person.
