A mother was mugged when she stopped to feed her daughter a piece of a soft pretzel near Stephen Girard Park Saturday afternoon.

The 37-year-old was pushing her 2-year-old in a stroller at 21st and Porter streets, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. As she bent over to feed the toddler, the suspect passed the family, then stood on the right side of baby carriage and said, “give me whatever you got.” The woman saw the black tip of his gun pointing at her, so she gave the man $1 and her cell phone. The man fled south on 21st.

The offender was described as black with a dark complexion, 5-foot-7, medium build, cleanly shaven, short hair and wearing a white T-shirt.
