Authorities are looking for a man who struck a woman’s head in order to take her purse last month in Passyunk Square.
The female was walking on the 1200 block of Ellsworth Street at 7:55 a.m. Feb. 12 when the unknown male approached her from behind, police said. Once he was extremely close to her, he struck the victim in the back of the head with an unknown object.
Knocked to the ground, she would not prevent the aggressor from taking her purse, which he ripped from her shoulder before running north on 12th Street and crossing Washington Avenue. She received minor injuries that required her transport to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
