A return trip from the hairdresser turned unfortunate for a Newbold woman.
At 5 p.m. April 17, the complainant was walking northbound of Rosewood Street after a stop at a hairdresser at the intersection of Jackson and South Rosewood streets when a man approached her from behind and tried to pull her purse off her shoulder, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. She resisted, leading him to push her to the ground, from which he took the desired item before running southbound on South Rosewood Street.
The older adult relayed that she saw only the offender’s tan work boots.
