A man was held up at gunpoint and robbed of hundreds in Newbold.

A 29-year-old heard someone behind him yell, “give me your cell phone and get on the ground” at 10:20 p.m. April 6 and was greeted with a black, semi-automatic handgun, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. He handed the armed man his cell and headphones. Another man then began rummaging through his pockets to retrieve his credit card, identification and other items totaling $300 with the phone.

Before fleeing, the armed man demanded his victim’s eyes remain down and that he lay on the ground. The offenders fled south on 15th and west on Tasker Street.

The gunman was described as black with a dark complexion, age 19, 5-foot-11, thin, with no facial hair and a thin nose and wearing a black hoody, black pants and black canvas sneakers with white soles. His accomplice was described as black with a medium complexion, age 19, 5-foot-8, 230 pounds, with light facial hair and wearing a gray Gap hoody and khaki pants.
