It’s hard enough to find time to work out, so Planet Fitness makes it simple with 24-hour access to its gym. And that’s just one of the reasons readers voted the Marconi locale at 2350 Oregon Ave. as top gym/health club for the second straight year.
“We’ve been open in state of emergencies when there’s three feet of snow on the ground,” Brian Turner, general manager of Planet Fitness’ South Philly location, said.
Aside from the accessibility, the cost also wins over its 17,000 South Philly users.
“I know a lot of members that come in are blown away with what they can get for $10 [a month],” Turner said.
The gym that boasts itself as “The Judgement Free Zone” has 100 pieces of cardio and 60 pieces of strength equipment, but is in the process of bringing in brand new cardio apparatuses. The new treadmills already are in place, and the new ellipticals and bikes should arrive early next month.
“It’s definitely a great honor,” Turner said. “We do take a lot of pride [in it]. It’s nice to hear that we won again.”
Fitness Works flexed in second, and Sweat Fitness worked up a sweat in third.
