A man broke into a local home through the back door and escaped with a trash bag full of the owner’s belongings.
A 24-year-old on the 1200 block of South 15th Street was awoken to glass shattering at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. As he ran downstairs, he discovered an unknown man with a trash bag over his shoulder standing in his kitchen before fleeing out the back door in an unknown direction.
The back door window was broken and his PlayStation3 — valued at $400 — was missing, Tolliver said.
The offender was described as black or Hispanic with a dark complexion, age 30 to 35, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10, 160 pounds and wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans.
