A man sliced another man’s arm as he attempted to rob him in Bella Vista.

The 37-year-old was getting into his car at noon Dec. 8 on the 900 block of East Passyunk Avenue when an unknown man pushed him from behind and demanded cash, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. As the man turned around, the offender appeared to have a box cutter that he began to swing around. During a brief struggle, the offender cut the man on his left forearm before fleeing empty-handed in an unspecified direction.

The victim was transported to Pennsylvania Hospital where he received five stitches to his arm, Tolliver said.

The offender was described as white or Hispanic with a light complexion, in his 20s, 5-foot-9, 180 to 200 pounds; having a medium build; and wearing a blue hoody with the hood tied tightly around his face and blue sweatpants.
