Fleisher art competition now open Applications for the 2012 Wind Challenge Exhibition Series, which awards selected Philadelphia artists with exhibitions and grant money, are being accepted by the Fleisher Art Memorial, 719 Catharine St. Entries for the competition will be accepted until March 1.
Now in its 34th year, the competition awards nine local artists to present their work in group exhibitions during the 2011-2012 season. Winners also will be awarded an honorarium prize of $750 and receive help with creating public events to showcase their work. All artists within a 50-mile radius of Philadelphia are eligible to apply, and entries are narrowed down by artist and curator juries.
