Marvel fans of all ages decked out in costumes and apparel of their favorite superheroes will be gathering at Lincoln Financial Field, 1020 Pattison Ave., for the Marvel Experience through Sunday.
The immersive, interactive and action-packed  adventure is a chance for participants — dressed in comfortable clothing — to team up with their favorite superheroes and become recruits of S.H.I.E.L.D as they embark on a mission to stop Hydra’s newest weapon, the Adaptoid army.

The adventure starts with a mission briefing by S.H.I.E.L.D agent Nick Fury, as he assembles Marvel favorites such as Spider-Man, The Hulk, Black Widow and Iron Man to train the young recruits to defeat Hydra. Recruits exit into a room full of activity, including  tations where they can learn about the heroes’ backgrounds or create their own superhero. The motion sensing mats where recruits can summon their favorite Marvel superheroes and see them appear on screen next to them. Attendees also can see an armory full of gadgets used by Marvel heroes and villains, and play games on the activity tables.

Further down the hallway, the young S.H.I.E.L.D recruits make their way out, onto the Linc for training with their favorite superheroes in the 3D 360-degree stereoscopic projection theater. Once prepared to take on Hydra, the young recruits are briefed by Spider-Man about a ride in the Helicarrier. His broadcast is unfortunately interrupted by the evil Red-Skull who seeks to terrify the heroes in training before they board the Helicarrier. The recruits continue into the next tent and hop aboard the Helicarrier, a thrilling motion ride in 4-D to help S.H.I.E.L.D and the superheroes defeat Hydra’s Adaptoid army and save the day.

With the world safe once more, the young heroes now have more time to devote to their training, they can train like Spider-Man by climbing a rock wall,  like Black Widow by navigating a 3-D laser maze, and our favorite, target practice with Captain America. Some activities have height or weight requirements, such as the Spider-Man climbing wall and the Motion Ride Theater.

The Marvel Experience is full of family fun for all ages, with sessions starting at 10 a.m. and continuing until 6 p.m. — plan to be there for 90 minutes to three hours. A complete schedule can be found here (tickets are $40 to $55).  With non-stop action that plunges super-hero junkies into the adventure, The Marvel Experience is a day that you and your children will never forget.
