A woman fell prey to two robbers following a Monday fall in Newbold.

Walking along the 1500 block of Mifflin Street at 11 p.m., the complainant heard people walking behind her and decided to walk faster, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Stepping on ice, she slipped and fell and soon encountered two unknown men, the first scopping up her wallet, which contained $60, a debit card and identification and the second attempting to remove her purse from her shoulder.

As the struggle for the holder increased, the strap broke but the woman retained possession of the carrier, Tolliver said, and observed the offenders running eastbound on Mifflin Street toward Broad. She described them as black, 25 to 30 years old and clean-shaven; wearing blue jeans and puffy black coats.
