A man escaped a double-teamed mugging in Grays Ferry.


A 21-year-old man was headed to a bus stop at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 29 when he noticed a man heading west abruptly walk toward him on the 2800 block of Reed Street, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Then another man stepped in front of him, pointed a silver and black firearm at him and said, “Give me your stuff.” The target kept walking but the first man grabbed his arms. The victim broke free and fled westbound on Reed Street unscathed.


The initial offender was described as black with a light complexion, tall, having a beard and wearing a black hoodie and black puffy vest. The armed man was described as black, having a dark-colored mask covering the bottom portion of his face and wearing a black hoodie.
