Evening walk turns violent

A man was wounded while strolling through Point Breeze Sunday evening.

The 21-year-old was headed south on the 1700 block of South 22nd Street at 6 p.m. when he heard gunshots and felt discomfort in his right foot, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. He flagged down a man he knew driving by and received a ride to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania to receive treatment for a gunshot wound.

Police recovered ballistics evidence on the 1800 block of South 23rd Street. Both the motive and intended target of the shooting were unknown at press time.
