Drug traffickers convicted

Fifteen members of The Sanders Drug Trafficking Organization have pled guilty or have been convicted of their respective roles in the Queen Village ring.

Authorities uncovered the operation that was headquartered at Courtyard Apartments at Riverview, 1021 S. Fourth St., between March 2009 and Aug. 30, ’11 and arrested 15 for their involvement. Only three of the offenders were not locals.

Mayoshi Sanders, 36, of Germantown, who pled guilty Jan. 6, led the business that distributed 280 grams of crack cocaine and 500 grams of cocaine, as well as heroin, marijuana, oxycodone and alprazolam throughout the investigation. Alfred Jenkins, 43, of Southwest Philly, who pled guilty March 16, allegedly supplied the drugs in North Philly.

Thirteen other offenders, along with two juveniles and Karim Carter, who was killed within Courtyard’s perimeter May, 25, 2011, dealt the drugs within Courtyard’s perimeters and a few other known spots in South Philly.

Philis McAllister, 25; Elizabeth Cadogan, 38; Harold Jackson, 44; Betty Ann McKinney, 48; and Frank Wade, 20, all of Courtyard, as well as Tiyeak Cook, 34, of the 1400 block of South 31st Street, pled guilty between March 9 and May 9, according to court records.

William Frisby, 33; Kwane Glover, 24; Malani Sanders, 34; Jamal Stewart, 27; Davon Stokes, 22; all of Courtyard, as well as Thomas Bowie, 19, of Fern Rock, and Terrance Wade, 20, of Southwest Philly, were convicted May 24 of various charges in a 12-day trial.

Bowie and Stokes were found not guilty of conspiracy, but guilty of knowingly using a communication facility, such as a telephone to facilitate in a drug felony. The other five offenders were convicted of conspiracy and one or two other related offenses except for Stewart, who was convicted of conspiracy and eight other offenses.

Between June 26 and Aug. 24, all of the offenders will be sentenced, according to court records.
