Seven .40-caliber casings were found at the scene of a shooting after a 26- and 37-year-old were wounded while sitting inside a vehicle.

Medic 14 took both victims to Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in stable condition — the older male with a gunshot to his right knee and the younger male with a graze wound to his upper right arm, a report said.

A witness in the area of 56th Street and Chester Avenue told police he spotted two males exit a home on the 1400 block of Allison Street and fire about eight rounds at a green Plymouth minivan in which the victims were sitting on that block at about 2:25 p.m. Monday. When bullets started to fly, the 37-year-old driver took off at a high rate of speed south on 56th Street, then east on Woodland Avenue. The victims called police who found the van with injured parties on the 2600 block of Frazier Street.

Police had no description of the perpetrators.

Mugger lobs threat

Two males threatened to take another’s life if he didn’t comply with their request for money.

The incident happened around noon Monday at 52nd Street and Chester Avenue.

The offenders approached the 19-year-old as he walked, pushed him against a wall and told him not to move or he would be killed, a report said. The pair rummaged through the victim’s pockets, taking his wallet containing $200, before fleeing on foot north on Chester from 52nd Street.

Bold move

A man entered the passenger seat of a car, stuck a gun in the driver’s ribs and announced a stickup, stating "Give it up old head, you know what this is." The 53-year-old victim was able to make his exit and run away, calling police in to the 10:10 p.m. incident Sunday. Nothing was taken and the victim escaped harm. When cops got to 56th Street and Paschall Avenue, they found the auto but the offender was gone, a report said.

The perpetrator was described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-9 with a thin build and mustache; he was wearing a black and gray hoody and gray baggy pants.

While getting out of her vehicle on the 1300 block of South 56th Street, a 58-year-old was held up at gunpoint Monday.

After the offender swiped her laptop, valued at around $500, and wallet containing $100, the woman gave chase north on 56th Street only to lose the thief, a report said.

The perpetrator in the incident shortly before 10 a.m. was described as a black male, approximately 170 pounds, 5-foot-10, medium build and wearing a black waist-length coat and same colored pants.

Give it all up

A man pressed a firearm in a woman’s back and ordered her to surrender everything she had. The 25-year-old was walking near 62nd and Dicks Street at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday when the perpetrator approached from behind and mugged her, a report said.

Taken was a wallet containing a MAC card and unknown amount of cash along with several gold rings valued at about $1000.

Memorial fund for fire victims

A press conference announcing a memorial fund was held Wednesday by family and friends of a seven Liberians who perished in a Dec. 26 fire that the fire marshal cited was caused by misuse of a kerosene heater.

The 10 a.m. event was held at the corner of 65th Street and Elmwood Avenues, near the site of the blaze at 6418 Elmwood Ave., that killed three adults and four children ages 18 months to 54 years old.

Contributions to The Philadelphia Seven Fire Victims Memorial Fund can be mailed to Wachovia Eastwick Financial Center, 2904 Island Ave.; Phila, Pa, 19153.

Donations can also be made at www.PhilaSevenFireVictims.org.

According to Fire Chief Daniel Williams, an adult occupant of the dwelling filled the heater, located in the basement of the three-story house, with gasoline — a big no-no since kerosene is to be used only in such heaters, Williams said.

The blaze started at 10:47 p.m. and engulfed the structure until it was placed under control at 11:23 p.m. It took 53 firefighters using 14 pieces of equipment to battle the flames.

Protect your pets

The Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is urging citizens not to forget their pets as temperatures plummet — this weekend especially with Friday’s high expected to be only 18 degrees.

Fur doesn’t mean an animal can keep warm outside, Kim Wolf, PSPCA public relations assistant, said. Recently, the PSPCA investigated the case of a dog found frozen to a fence in North Philly, it’s owner having left the pooch tied to the structure overnight when temperatures fell to 14 degrees.

To report an animal left outside or in a cold car, call the PSPCA’s toll-free cruelty-reporting hot line at 866-601-SPCA. A PSPCA law enforcement agent will investigate all calls. SWR
