A man had a close call when gunfire erupted in Point Breeze last week.

The 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were about to enter a home on the 1900 block of Mountain Street when the pair heard gunshots coming from 19th Street, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The man felt a burning sensation on his leg and the two quickly went into the dwelling.

Neither was injured as the bullet had entered and exited the man’s pant leg with out hitting his leg, Tolliver said.

Detectives recovered ballistics evidence at the scene.

The offender was described as black, age 18 to 25, 5-foot-9 to 6 foot, thin and wearing a dark-colored hoodie and a baseball cap.
