A local man was arrested and charged with assault and kidnapping Friday — two days after an alleged brutal beating of his girlfriend inside his home.

Sean Parisella, 34, of the 1700 block of Wolf Street, was arguing with his 23-year-old girlfriend about their relationship at 3 p.m. Oct. 27, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.

During the dispute, Parisella is believed to have slapped and punched her until she passed out and then ripped off her clothing and did not let her leave, Tolliver said. The woman’s father called her during the fight and his daughter requested he call a family friend, who is a Lansdowne police officer.

The father went to Parisella’s home and transported his daughter to Abington Memorial Hospital after seeing her injuries that included a lacerated liver, black left eye, scrapes to her back and chin and pain throughout her body, Tolliver said. She was admitted in critical condition and upgraded to stable after surgery to repair her liver.

Parisella was arrested at 9:40 p.m. Friday and charged with aggravated assault, unlawful restraint, possession of narcotics, which were found on him when arrested and related offenses.
