A homeless man and two others robbed a deliveryman in South of South last week.

The 43-year-old employee from an undisclosed Chinese restaurant arrived via his motorized scooter on the 1600 block of Webster Street at 10:52 p.m. June 27, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. Three men, two of whom were armed, allegedly came up behind him, struck him on the head with a weapon. As the victim fell to the ground, the trio allegedly stole his bike, cell phone and $500.

A 29-year-old male witness followed Courtney Duncan, 19, who is homeless, flagged down police at 16th and Christian streets, Tolliver said. Police arrested Duncan on the 1500 block of Catharine Street and recovered evidence from Duncan that allegedly linked him to the crime.

Duncan was charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, firearm violations and related offenses.

Police did not release detailed descriptions of the other two offenders.
