A pizza delivery woman was carjacked as she was delivering to a Grays Ferry home.

As the 18-year-old employee from Southside Pizza, 920 S. 17th St., was about to make a delivery on the 2500 block of Federal Street, she double-parked and left her car running with the keys in the ignition, Detective Tamika Selden of South Detective Division said.

She knocked on the home where the food was to be dropped off, but no one answered. However, as she turned around an unknown man entered her vehicle. She ran to her auto and opened the driver’s side door, but the carjacker slammed it shut again before speeding off west on Federal Street and then north on 26th Street.

The suspect was described as black, age 25 to 30, thin, and wearing a dark gray hoody and blue jeans.
