A man thought he was purchasing an iPad off of craigslist, but the seller deceived and robbed him in Girard Estate.

The 27-year-old arrived on the 1900 block of Shunk Street at 10:15 p.m. March 6 to meet the man with whom he arranged the transaction, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The man, whose ad he saw on craigslist, walked to the driver’s side of his vehicle, at which point another man hopped in his auto on the passenger’s side, held him at gunpoint with a small firearm and demanded his belongings. The duo fled on foot in an unknown direction with the man’s credit cards, ID, two cell phones and $1,900.

The initial offender was described as black, in his 30s, thin and wearing a brown leather jacket, while the armed offender was described as black, in his 30s; having a medium build; and wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket.
