Authorities are searching for a male who attempted to burglarize a Lower Moyamensing home Tuesday.

At 3 a.m., law enforcement agents responded to a residence on the 2200 block of South Carlisle Street for a report of a break-in, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The occupant told them a disturbance in the rear of her home awakened her, with her dog barking in response to the activity.

Going downstairs, she observed a male with one arm stuck through her sliding patio door. Upon seeing her, he fled the scene, with the homeowner last observing him jumping over the rear fence and running northbound through an alley toward Snyder Avenue. She described him as white, in his late teens to early 20s and 5-foot-6; having a very thin build, black hair and pock marks; unshaven; and wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.
