A Queen Village man was sentenced for eight robberies he committed in and near his neighborhood within a two-month span.

Eric Johnson, 23, of the 400 block of Christian Street, will serve seven-and-a-half to 20 years in prison for 14 counts of robberies — some of the crimes had more than one victim — as well as one count of burglary and aggravated assault, according to court records. Court of Common Pleas Judge Donna Woelpper also ordered him to repay $2,688 as restitution at his April 4 sentencing.

Johnson was arrested Sept. 24 after police located a victim’s phone with the offenders fingerprints on it in a dumpster and received a tip from an anonymous caller identifying him as the robber in a few area robberies.

Police arrested him at his girlfriend’s home on the 900 block of South Fifth Street where they recovered items from a Sept. 1 robbery on the 700 block of South Fifth Street and a BB gun. At Johnson’s home, police found wallets without IDs, two bikes and a small laptop.

He first admitted to four robberies that occurred between Aug. 14 and Sept. 1 within the perimeter of Bainbridge, Fifth, Christian and Sixth streets. In a follow-up interview the day after his arrest, he confessed to two Aug. 10 robberies on the 700 block of East Passyunk Avenue and on the 200 block of Carpenter Street. He was charged with two more robberies Nov. 12 on the 900 block of South Seventh Street and the 400 block of Monroe Street July 18 and Aug. 5, respectively.
