After an argument inside their Point Breeze home, a man allegedly stabbed and killed his boyfriend early Sunday.

A fight between lovers escalated inside a dwelling on the 2000 block of Oakford Street, Officer Tanya Little of the Police Public Affairs Unit said. Officers arrived to the scene at 2:46 a.m. for a disturbance and a person with a weapon, and met Alonzo Simmons, 29, who allegedly admitted to stabbing his boyfriend, Angel Brown, 27.

With one stab wound to the chest, Brown was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and pronounced dead about 40 minutes later, Little said.

Simmons was charged with murder and possession of an instrument of crime.
