Police discovered a wounded 20-year-old man at a shooting scene Friday, however, authorities did not locate the remaining victims until the weekend.
At 7:38 p.m. the 20-year-old and two 14-year-old boys were standing on the 2200 block of McKean Street when four unknown men fired bullets at the trio from the middle of the street, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.
One of the boys tried to flee, but he felt pain and saw blood dripping from a leg wound, Tolliver said. A private auto transported him to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where he was treated. Police learned of the wounded boy and responded to the hospital at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
The other teen fled on foot to 22nd Street and Snyder Avenue where he realized he had received a graze wound to his left leg, Tolliver said. He did not inform anyone of the incident, but his mother discovered his pants had a hole where the bullet penetrated. After questioning her son, she contacted police at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police discovered the oldest victim with a wounded abdomen at the scene and transported him in critical condition to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was taken into surgery immediately, Tolliver said.
Detectives located ballistics evidence and an 1999 green Dodge Durango with bullet holes on the hood and windshield, but did not have a motive at press time, Tolliver said.
