An unknown man, without saying a word, fired a single shot just missing a man in Passyunk Square.

A 42-year-old was in the process of putting stuff in the trunk of his car on the 1300 block of Dickinson Street at 5:50 p.m. Aug. 23 when a man on a gray mountain bike pulled up beside him silently and shot a bullet at him with a silver and black .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The target fell backward and hid behind his car unscathed as the gunman fled west on Dickinson and south on Watts Street.

The shooter was described as black, age 25 to 30, stocky; having a beard; and wearing a light-colored shirt and tan shorts.
