A man, who allegedly wounded his ex eight times last month in Grays Ferry, was found and arrested in North Philly.
Major Crimes Unit members apprehended Bernard S. Gause, 35, at a family friend’s home on the 1800 block of Brunner Street at 1:15 p.m. Oct. 17, according to authorities.
Gause, allegedly went to his 30-year-old former significant other’s home on the 1300 block of South Hollywood Street at 12:20 a.m. Sept. 8, insisting he wanted to get his family back, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.
After spotting her current boyfriend exit the house, he asked, “Who is that?” and allegedly pointed a black handgun at the 34-year-old, who moved back inside the dwelling. Gause, whom she has a restraining order against, allegedly pointed the gun at his former flame and fired from two feet away, striking her eight times.
The victim was transported to HUP in stable condition, Tolliver said.
Gause was charged with attempted murder, contempt from violation of an order, aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime; two counts of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person; and firearm violations, according to court records. He is being held on $1.5 million bail.
Gause previously spent time in jail for a 1996 simple assault and a ’98 aggravated assault in North Philly, according to court records.
