A taxi driver was robbed of $150 inside his cab early Tuesday in Point Breeze.

A man flagged down a 30-year-old Olde City Taxi driver at 5:52 a.m. at 23rd and Federal streets, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The man agreed to pay a requested $5 fare to the cabbie to be driven to 25th Street and Washington Avenue.

Upon reaching his destination, he put an unknown object between the partition and demanded money, Tolliver said. The cabbie handed over $150 from the car’s sun visor to the man, who fled east on Washington.

The thief was described as black with a light complexion, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9, cleanly shaven with a medium build and braids and wearing a white tank top and dark-colored shorts.
