C.H.E.E.R.S. for kids

The Philadelphia Police Department’s Community Health Enrichment Empowerment Resource Service, or C.H.E.E.R.S., program is seeking students age 8 to 17 for its initiative that allows youth to interact with positive role models while educating the youngsters about drug awareness, conflict resolution and other discussion topics.

The program runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays from March 5 to April 9 at the Dixon House, 1920 S. 20th St. Applications may be picked up at the 17th Police District, 20th and Federal streets, but must be submitted before the program commences.
