A cigarette-seeking man robbed a woman Monday morning in Grays Ferry.
At 12:36 a.m., the victim was walking along Street toward 26th Street when an unknown male approached her from behind and asked for a cigarette, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The complainant ignored him and kept walking, with the stranger running up to her and blaring “You think I’m playing with you? Give me your s—.”
The woman gave him her phone and wallet containing debit and credit cards, identification and $607 and observed him fleeing towards 28th Street, Tolliver said. She described him as black, 20 to 30 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7, 185-200 pounds; having a medium build, thick eyebrows and a mustache; and wearing a black skullcap and a gray hoody.
