A Point Breeze resident was arrested for a Sunday afternoon heist.

Jermaine Flamer, 24, of the 2100 block of Moore Street, allegedly was riding his bicycle toward a 25-year-old on the 1100 block of Washington Avenue at 1:30 p.m., Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. When he reached his target, he is believed to have hopped off of the bike, punched the man three times and took his Samsung Galaxy cell phone from his pants pocket. Flamer allegedly fled westbound on his ride. Police spotted and stopped Flamer on the 1400 block of Ellsworth Street where officers recovered the cell phone.

Flamer was arrested and charged with robbery, simple assault, theft, receiving stolen property and recklessly endangering another person, according to court records. His bail, which had been set at $5,000, had not been posted as of press time.
