A Newbold/Point Breeze man was gunned down on his 31st birthday Saturday.
Cornelius Riggs, of the 1600 block of Wharton Street, received multiple gunshots to his chest on the 1200 block of South 15th Street at 2:05 a.m., Officer Jill Russell of the Police Public Affairs Unit said. He was pronounced dead 14 minutes later at the scene.
Police did not have any suspects or a motive at press time.
