Police arrested two males Tuesday morning for their alleged role in a Bella Vista robbery.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, the male complainant observed two unknown black men inside his place of employment, Center City Pretzel Co., 816 Washington Ave., with one pulling a handgun from his waistband and asking who else was in the establishment, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The worker said a colleague was present and opened the cash register, leaving it open in the hope that anyone entering would realize something was wrong.

After allegedly placing zip ties around his wrists, the offenders supposedly kicked open an office door to look for money. A customer entered the site at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday and called for someone after noticing the open drawer, Tolliver said. With no response, he waited and soon began to converse with a police officer who entered.

The law enforcer approached the other worker, who said he believed someone was in the office space with his peer. Calling for backup, the officer ordered everyone out of the room, with the complainant identifying the other men as his aggressors and the store’s probable robbers, Tolliver said. Processing the scene, authorities, who recovered two handguns and a backpack containing $393 from the register, arrested 40-year-old West Philadelphian Donte Camp and 43-year-old Bensalem inhabitant Calvin Clark. Their charges include robbery, theft, recklessly endangering another person and possession of an instrument of crime.
