A 32-year-old man thwarted the plans of a suspected robber in Queen Village Monday.

The resident awoke at 12:54 p.m. to find the intruder rummaging through the top drawer of his third-floor bedroom dresser. His sitting up caused the unwanted guest to run out of the room and home on the unit block of Christian Street, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.

The occupant notified police, stating he had failed to detect anyone by looking out the front and rear of his residence. When he reached his home’s street level, he found his laptop, computer printer, a game console and a flat-screen television with cables still attached, all which had been removed from a second-floor bedroom, on the hallway floor leading to the property’s rear door, Tolliver said.

Inspecting the area, the man and police noticed damage to the rear door’s frame. He reported he thinks the only missing item is $30 to $40 from the wallet on the dresser.

He described the interloper as a black man with a medium complexion and a scruffy beard; age 26 to 35; 6 foot to 6-foot-1; having a stocky build; and wearing sweat pants and a sweatshirt of indistinguishable color.
