Banking on it

Since its inaugural season in 2004, Citizens Bank Park, 1 Citizens Park Way, has been home to more than 700 Phillies games and has been named South Philly’s best pro sports venue.

Since Veterans Stadium closed in ’03, the park has offered a welcoming atmosphere to both Phillies players and fans, especially during five playoff appearances, including the 2008 World Series championship. And the stadium held a National League record when the Phillies recorded 257 consecutive regular-season sellouts between July 7, ’09 and Aug. 6, ’12.

While the ballpark carries typical fare, such as peanuts, Cracker Jacks, hot dogs, and beer, one also can taste city favorites such as Tony Luke’s and Chickie’s and Pete’s, as well as Harry the K’s, a restaurant honoring the late Phillies’ Hall-of-Fame broadcaster Harry Kalas.

The Wells Fargo Center, home of the Flyers and Sixers, and Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles’ stadium, scored second- and third-place, respectively.
