A man was stabbed without warning in Point Breeze in an attempted robbery Friday.

The 59-year-old male was headed westbound on the 2200 block of Cross Street at 8:47 p.m. when two men came up from behind him, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The victim walked to the 2300 block of Wilder Street where he met police and a medic transported him to HUP in stable condition, Tolliver said.

The knife-weilding suspect was described as black, in his mid-20s, 5-foot-7, heavy and wearing a white T-shirt and dark-colored pants while his accomplice was described as black, age 20, 5-foot-6, stocky, and wearing a white T-shirt.
