A group of teen boys jumped a man for his bicycle inside his Newbold garage Saturday night.
A 32-year-old was behind his home putting his bike inside his garage on the 1600 block of South Carlisle Street when five teens allegedly started to punch him at 8:55 p.m., Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The assault lasted for about one minute before a 15-year-old, of the 2100 block of South 10th Street, is believed to have grabbed the bike and pedaled away.
The man was transported to Methodist Hospital for a severe laceration above his eye, Tolliver said.
Police apprehended the 15-year-old and a 13-year-old, of the 1700 block of South 17th Street, within a block of the crime scene at 9:15 p.m. and charged them with robbery, theft, aggravated assault, simple assault and criminal conspiracy.
