An unknown man tried to drag a woman into an alleyway in Queen Village until a passer-by inadvertently scared him off.

A 23-year-old female was strolling along the 100 block of Catharine Street when a man ran up behind her, put one arm around her waist and his other hand over her mouth, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said.

He said, “if you scream or call the cops, I will kill you” before dragging her toward an alley. As another man passed them on the street, the offender released the woman and fled into the alley by himself.

The suspect was described as black, in his 30s, 180 to 200 pounds and clean shaven; having a shaved head; and wearing a brown zipper hoody and blue jeans.
