Photo 1: Children affiliated with Don’t Shoot… I Want a Future joined Unity in the Community founder and president Anton Moore Friday at the Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S. Broad St. Through a partnership with the Philadelphia Soul, the organizations continued their civic engagement by adopting and holding a fundraiser for Delaplaine McDaniel School, 1801 S. 22nd St. The arena football franchise acknowledged the efforts, which raised $500 for the Point Breeze school, by giving the youngsters an hour to work on their football and kickball skills.
Photos 2 to 3: The Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2400 South Broad St., instructed 19 youths during its July 8 to 12 Vacation Bible School sessions. The week featured numerous morale-building activities under the leadership of youth director Robert Nacci, with the Lower Moyamensing location honoring their aptitude with a July 14 commencement ceremony.
