The City has contributed $20,000 to a reward for the Point Breeze man allegedly responsible for fatally wounding a bystander in Grays Ferry last month.

The Citizens Crime Commission of the Delaware Valley administered a $5,000 reward April 23 for information leading police to Shekinah Williams, 28, of the 2100 block of Sears Street, who police are seeking for the murder of Clarice Douglas. The reward now totals $25,000.

The mother of five was caught in the middle of Williams’ and Hakeem Burley’s gunfire and was shot multiple times in the head and back at 2:33 p.m. April 20 on the 1500 block of South Corlies Street. Burley, of 27th Street and Snyder Avenue, was arrested after arriving to the hospital with four gunshot wounds.

Williams is described as black, 5-foot-3, 125 pounds and having black hair and brown eyes. Authorities advise residents to not approach him.
