Police arrested a Marconi man for allegedly trying to burglarize a Lower Moyamensing location.

At 2:53 a.m. Friday, authorities reached Triple L Grocery Store, 2601 S. Beulah St., after receiving a call of a break-in, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. They found the location unsecured and a side window removed. Entering the establishment, they supposedly found 42-year-old Jason Joyce, of the 2900 block of South Carlisle Street, and arrested him. While processing the scene, they located a pry bar and cartons of cigarettes by the damaged window.

They charged Joyce with possession of an instrument of crime, criminal mischief, burglary, criminal trespassing and theft. He had not posted his $5,000 bail as of press time and awaits an Aug. 21 status hearing.
