Alley assault

Gary Gissendanner, 41, of Southwest Philadelphia entered the alley behind 2616 Woodland Ave., where a 26-year-old woman, who couldn’t hold it any longer, was going to the bathroom at 2:30 a.m., according to a report. He approached the female and said, "back up and pull your pants down." Following the assault, Gissendanner fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim flagged down police and was taken to Jefferson Hospital. She later positively identified Gissendanner, who has since been charged with rape.

He was previously sentenced five to 10 years in 1998 for another rape in February 1997, according to court documents.

Front-door robbery

Two females were jumped from behind upon walking toward their front door April 10.

Braheem Herbert, 18, of Norristown said to the 21-year-old and the 27-year-old, "Yo, come here. Give me everything you got," around 1:35 a.m. on 65th Street and Grays Avenue, according to a report. Herbert, who had a black revolver, shoved the younger woman against the wall of the dwelling and took $200 and a cellphone from her pockets and ran off in an unknown direction. After a description of a man was given over the police radio, Herbert was found at 63rd and Wheeler streets. He was positively identified by the two victims and charged with robbery and related offenses. The gun, as well as the stolen items were recovered.


Jealous ex

A man’s ex-girlfriend entered his home and accusing him of cheating and allegedly threatened to kill him April 8.

Michele Clements, 42, of the 5400 block of Kingsessing Ave., used her key without permission to enter the 42-year-old ex-boyfriend’s home, according to a report. After screaming, "you cheated on me," she began punching and scratching the man’s face at the 1100 block of South Divinity Street residence. Next, she allegedly whipped out a knife and told him, "I’m gonna kill you."

The man told the offender repeatedly that he did not cheat on her and went to another room to call for help. Upon arrival, the police observed scratches and swelling to the man’s face and recovered the knife.

Clements has been charged with aggravated assault, burglary, terroristic threats and related offences, according to court documents.


Pillow fight

During a verbal argument, a woman’s live-in husband allegedly pulled out a handgun from the couch telling her, "we’re not going to do this again."

The 53-year-old woman sat opposite of William Kevin Smith, 53, of 8400 block of Brunswick Place, on the living room couch around 8 a.m. April 10. Following the argument in the house, Smith pulled the gun from between the couch cushions, but police have not recovered the weapon. Smith has been charged with possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, according to court documents.


Snatch

A man snatched a woman’s purse while she was on the way to a clinic inside the Social Security Income office, 6120 Woodland Ave., April 7.

Shawn Freeman, 18, of Southwest Philadelphia followed the 18-year-old woman inside before punching her in the face and taking her purse at 8:24 a.m., according to a report. The brown purse contained IDs, and a cellphone valued at $340. Freeman ran north on 61st Street and then east on Greenway Avenue. Police, who were in the area, were called and took Freeman into custody at 60th Street and Greenway Avenue and the woman’s purse was recovered
