Authorities on Tuesday announced the Jan. 8 arrest of 18-year-old Kenneth Rogers, of North Philly, for his alleged robbery of a Marconi East business.
In the matter, the complainant stated he was ringing up items for a patron of City News and Tobacco, 2655 S. Franklin St., at 12:14 p.m. Dec. 2 when the prospective purchaser jumped over the counter and started to fight him, police said. Knocking the worker to the ground, he took approximately $300 from the register before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction. He awaits his formal arraignment today on robbery and related charges.
