A man attempted to break into an ATM machine, but ran away when a good Samaritan confronted him Friday afternoon.
The man was kicking and pulling at the wires of a Hyosung Mini Bank ATM on the 2500 block of South Broad Street at 1:40 a.m. until a 58-year-old approached him, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The man did not gain access to the ATM’s safe.
He was described as white, age 21 to 25, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-9, 180 pounds and wearing a blue jacket and gray sweatshirt.
