Just past midnight Tuesday, police responded to a call on the 2000 block of Manton Street where they met with a man who said he had engaged in an argument with another male, Detective Danielle Tolliver of South Detective Division said. The complainant stated he had bickered with the individual over the latter’s removal of an orange traffic cone the former had situated to save his parking spot.

The second figure allegedly produced a stun gun and used it on the first male, who after falling to ground headed to the rear of his home, Tolliver said. Spotting a patrol car’s flashing lights, he notified authorities of the incident and pointed out the defendant, whose supposed weapon they retrieved. The victim sustained injuries to his knees and wrists from the gun.

Authorities charged Malcolm Greer, 47, of the 1200 block of South 21st Street with possession of an instrument of crime, simple and aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person. He awaits a Feb. 11 preliminary hearing.
